Activities on Koh Samui

Koh Samui is far more than a beach destination. Inland attractions include safari trips to the island's waterfalls, famous for their towering cascades and the natural swimming pools that gather at the base.

The island also boasts a number of fascinating temples, the most famous of which is home to the Big Buddha statue a 12-metre golden landmark that can even be seen as you fly in to the island. Shopping choices are equally vast and diverse, from modest street stalls to high-end fashion boutiques and global brand stores. Samui's local and international chefs also ensure every taste and appetite is well catered for. Adventure sports such as canopy riding, ATV tours and kiteboarding are also popular with residents and visitors to Koh Samui, as are leisure sports such as golf and mountain biking.

Koh Samui's appealing marine environment makes snorkelling and Scuba diving trips to nearby islands an unforgettable experience. The Ang Thong National Marine Park, just an hour by boat from Samui, is one of the most spectacular natural marine sites in Thailand, with 42 limestone islands fringed with untouched white sand beaches, fertile mangroves and the hillside jungle that hides waterfalls and a stunning inland lake.

Other islands off Samui include Koh Phangan, famous for its monthly Full Moon Party, but now also a major health and wellness destination. Koh Tao is also a popular destination for lovers of marine splendour and boasts top class snorkelling and diving opportunities.
