Grand Opening of Villa Riva, Koh Samui

June 10, 2012 (Koh Samui) - Owner's representatives, property agents, and journalists gathered last night at Villa Riva on Koh Samui's unspoilt north coast to formally mark the grand opening of the island's newest luxury private residence.

The guests of honour were taken on a tour of the beachfront property, which is set amongst lush grounds and features eight bedrooms spread out over three separate villas. Facilities at Villa Riva include a floodlit tennis court, and fronting the property's  32 meter-long infinity pool, a central clubhouse complete with a private cinema furnished with 12 plush seats, and a dedicated spa and fitness room.

After the tour, the attendees gathered for refreshments as the sun set over the Gulf of Thailand, mingling on Villa Riva's unique 350 sqm events platform, which is perched on a tropical hillside and offers panoramas over the villa's private secluded cove.

The pre-dinner drinks provided a networking opportunity for interested parties to meet with one another in a casual setting, and was the conversation oiled with bottles of vintage wine carefully chosen from over a hundred bottles stored in the villa's private cellar. Plates of canapés were passed round by Villa Riva's professional on-site hospitality staff team, prepared by the resident private chef.

"We distribute over 340 villas on Koh Samui," said Marc Ribail, managing director of Web Marketing & Reservations, a villa rental agency with a global portfolio, "but Villa Riva raises the bar beyond many other luxury property. We have already been getting a number of inquiries for destinations weddings, which are absolutely perfect on the villa's dedicated wedding platform."
